We are moving from bit.ly — how do we start?
Sign up for free and create new links here for all your destinations — manually in the app or in bulk via the API. Existing bit.ly links keep working at bit.ly; links cannot be "transferred" between domains, so update the places where your links are published to the new ktzr.io links.
Why can I not shorten a bit.ly (or other shortener) link?
Chaining shorteners hides the final destination and is abused for fraud, so shortening links from other shorteners is blocked. Shorten the original destination address directly.
We printed a QR on invitations — will it keep working?
Yes. The QR code points at the short link, not the destination. You can update the destination whenever you want — the printed QR keeps working exactly as before. As long as the link is not deleted, the QR is valid.
What happens to a link we deleted?
It stops redirecting and answers HTTP 410 (Gone). Its short address is never assigned to anyone else — so nobody can ever "inherit" a link printed on your invitation.
How do you separate real people from bots in the statistics?
Link previews (WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook), search crawlers, and other known bots are identified by their browser signature and counted separately, in a dedicated field. The main number reflects real visitors.
Can I pick a Hebrew short address?
No. Custom back-halves are 3 to 50 characters from Latin letters, digits, hyphen, and underscore (a-z, A-Z, 0-9, -, _). Hebrew in the address breaks in some browsers, printers, and invitation systems — so we chose not to support it. Choosing a custom back-half is currently available to admin accounts only (planned for Pro).
I found a ktzr.io link leading to harmful content — what do I do?
Report it on our abuse page — no account needed. In addition, every destination is automatically checked against Google Web Risk at creation and rescanned daily; dangerous links are taken down.
Where is our data stored?
On Google Cloud in the European Union: the database is Firestore in region eur3 and the servers run in Europe. Full details on the privacy page.
What does the free tier include, and what are the limits?
Up to 50 links per account, up to 20 new links per hour, a QR for every link, daily statistics with bot filtering, tags, and up to 10 API keys. A new account is limited to 5 links in its first 24 hours (an anti-abuse guard).
Does updating a link’s destination change the short address?
No. The short address and the QR stay the same — only the destination changes. Every destination edit is kept in the link’s history, so you can always see what changed and when.
